L. N. “Nick” Conner Jr.

Services for Louis Nicklas “Nick” Conner Jr., 41, of Overton are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, at the Bar None Cowboy Church in Tatum with Jason Taylor and Jake Wommer officiating. Burial will be in the Overton City Cemetery under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.

  Mr. Conner died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, in Rusk County. He was born Dec. 21, 1969, in Houston. He was a longtime resident of Winnie and had also lived in Chandler prior to moving to Overton.

  A third generation air conditioning technician, he was a former employee of Cole Air Conditioning in Athens and was currently employed by Waggoner Air Conditioning and Refrigeration in Overton.

  He was baptized at the Bar None Cowboy Church in Tatum.

  Mr. Conner was preceded in death by his grandfather, Henry L. Conner and his step father, Billy Cheshier.

  Survivors include his wife, Traci McAteer Conner, Overton; sons, Tyler Conner, Overton, Caleb Barrow, Winnie, John McAteer, Overton, and Tanner Conner, Winnie; daughters, Rebecca McAteer and Alexis Conner, both of Overton; father, Louis Conner Sr., Winnie; mother, Mary Cheshier, Quitman; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Tammie and David Touchet, Chandler, Toni and Gary Wilson, Lufkin, and Angel Lamb, Woodville; grandmother, Hazel Conner, Winnie; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lee and Jan McAteer, Brownsboro; brothers-in-law, Lee McAteer Jr. and Bryan McAteer, both of Brownsboro; special friends, Alton and Terrie Jones, Colt Jones and Terry Waggoner; and many other relatives and friends.

  Pallbearers will be Alton Jones, Colt Jones, Terry Waggoner, Michael Smith, Gary Clements, Jimmy Clements, Tim Rowe, and Bryan Copeland.

  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5.
