Floyd Junus Sartors

    LONGVIEW – Floyd “Bugs” Sartors, former longtime resident of Overton and most currently of Longview, Texas, passed away on Dec. 24, 2010 after a brief illness at the age of 88. He was born in Chisum, Oklahoma to Noel and Floy Sartors on June 24, 1922. Private services were held at a later date. Arrangements were with East Texas Funeral Home.

   He attended high school in Troup, Texas where he excelled at football. He served in World War II in the European Theatre as a member of the U. S. Army.

   “Bugs”, as he was affectionately known by, worked as field superintendent for J. W. Green Contractors in Overton, Texas until his retirement. He was an avid golfer most of his life and was a former member of the Overton Municipal Golf Course. He also served on the Overton ISD School Board.

   In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Deb Sartors Gounah, brothers Raymond Sartors, Ray Sartors, Noel Sartors, sister Helen Sartors Thomas and nephew Larry Sartors.

   Survivors include his wife Jan Alsbrooks Sartors, son and daughter-in-law Ronnie and Cindi Sartors of Overton; son and daughter-in-law Tom and Sharon Sartors of Longview; sister Alta Mae Reynolds of Woodridge, Ill.; five grandchildren: Christopher Sartors, Amber Sartors, Colby Gounah, Shelby Gounah McAdoo and Josh Sartors; six great-grandchildren: Shawn Sartors, Peyton Sartors, Kenzie McAdoo, Colby McAdoo, Chase Sartors and Chloe Sartors and many other nieces and nephews with special mention of Pat Sartors Gaddis of Tyler, Texas; Terry Sartors of Whitehouse, Texas; and sister-in-laws Sundra Alsbrooks Martin of Kingsville, Texas and Vida Mae Sartors of Whitehouse, Texas.

   The Sartors Family wish to thank all those who conveyed their condolences and said prayers, they truly made a difference.
