Overton, Arp Head Start, Pre-K registration

Head Start and Pre-Kindergarten registration will begin Monday, March 21, at Arp Elementary.  Any parents interested in these programs for the 2011 – 2012 school year should come to the Arp Elementary School office, between 7:00 am and 2:30 p.m. for an interview and registration.

To qualify for any 4 year old program a child must be 4 years of age on or before Sept. 1, 2011. 

According to standards set by the State Board of Education, registration includes: the child’s certified birth certificate, complete immunization records, copy of his/her social security card, proof of residence (i.e. utility bill), and proof of income (income tax from this year).

Kindergarten Round-Up

Kindergarten Round-Up for the 2011 – 2012 school year at Arp Elementary will start Monday, March 28, from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. If you have a child that will be 5 years old, on or before Sept. 1, 2011, and you live in the Arp Independent School District, you are encouraged to early register. 

The child’s certified birth certificate, complete immunization records, copy of his/her social security card and proof of residence are required for admission to Kindergarten.  Although kindergarten is not required, once enrolled in the program it is mandatory that children be on time and attend regularly.

Overton Elementary School will host kindergarten/Head Start round up from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 15.

The child must be 5 years old by Sept. 1 to enter kindergarten. The child must be 3 years old by Sept. 1 to enter Head Start.
