West Rusk student’s community clean-up

   “Count us in” is the theme for the Rusk County Trash Off Day scheduled for this Saturday. Attending the planning meeting last Thursday at the London Museum and Tea Room were New London City Councilwomen Stephanie Hawkins and Glenda Fleming; West Rusk High School National Honor Society members Lucas Furguson, Levi Wingate, Chelsey Arterberry, Sabrina Alexander, Braylon Johnson, Sam Carter, Madeline Gibbs, Kimber Thompson, Kanesha Roberson, Rebecca Waller, Chris Savala; and WRHS staff Jenny Jenkins and Justin Buck. Keep Henderson Beautiful members present were Bobby and Deanna Wooley, who said their goal is “to make Rusk County the cleanest, most beautiful county in Texas.”

  Rusk County Trash Off Day is open to all Rusk County residents. Individuals can take old household appliances (with Freon removed), litter, leaves, and brush to their local collection sites that day at no charge. Automobile tires will be accepted for a fee.  Commercial tires will not be accepted at any precinct collection site.
