After she misspoke during an interview with staff writer J. M. Jones, Paulette Guinn Duncan discovered how carefully many people read The Overton Press. The 1964 graduate of London High School mistakenly told him she was in the last graduating class there; once the paper came out she received a call from someone who corrected her.
Turns out, the LHS Class of 1965 graduated prior to the district’s consolidation with Gaston School and the formation of West Rusk County Consolidated Independent School District later that year.
She said the gentleman told her he had received a couple of phone calls about the error and Mrs. Duncan apologizes, saying in an email to The Press, “I have ‘dissed’ my 1965 friends by mistake.”
